Fruits are universally promoted as healthy due to their nutritional value and health-promoting metabolites. Indeed, the Mediterranean diet has been subjected to numerous studies associating its advantages with consuming fruits and vegetables, which are rich in metabolites and beneficial for human health. In the past decade, consumers' demands for functional foods increased. Does global warming also threaten the quality of our fruits? We aim to generate valuable insights with this ongoing project.
